Same Day Smiles requires careful planning before any treatment begins. At your consultation we will carry out a full assessment of your teeth, gums and jawbone using CBCT scanning and detailed clinical examination. We will discuss your expectations honestly and give you a clear picture of what the treatment involves, what the temporary and final restorations will look and feel like, and what the total cost and timeline will be.
In the weeks before your Same Day Smiles appointment, any remaining teeth that need to be removed will be scheduled for extraction if this has not already been completed. Your temporary restoration will also be manufactured in advance so that it is ready to be fitted on the day.
On the day of treatment, any remaining teeth are removed and the implants are placed under local anaesthetic or sedation depending on your preference and the complexity of the case. The temporary fixed arch is then attached to the implants, and you leave the clinic with a complete, stable set of teeth.
Over the following months, the implants integrate fully with the jawbone. During this time you will have dietary guidance to follow and regular appointments to monitor your progress. The temporary restoration is functional throughout this period.
